Robots have been used more and more widely in the field of coating processes such as HVOF coating. Manual teach is still the most popular way for the robot programming.The biggest problem for the robot users is that the coating thickness is not even due to the inaccurate standoff distance from the nozzle to the workpiece surface.The state-of-the-art InterSmart robotic coating system provides a solution to this problem.The application of a 3D digitizer based off-line programming provides an intuitive way to program the robot for the coating process.Together with the on-line flame calibration, a consistent coating surface thickness distribution can be achieved.

● Portable 3D digitizer based off-line programming package provides more accurate robot path to achieve even coating layer thickness

● The path planning module provides the tool to achieve the even workpiece temperature during the coating process

● Consistent workpiece quality by using the on-line flame calibration system for HVOF coating while compensating the nozzle wear for each workpiece

● After coating non-destructive testing (NDT), the system provide the fast and accurate feedback for the robot program modification

● The application of the external axis ensures the whole surface of the workpiece is reachable by robot
